Keith DeWeese – The Sly Rascal

My song, "The Sly Rascal," is a collection with the working title, FOREVER MARCHING LIMBO WARD. I was the "clever rogue" by PL Travers' Mary Poppins books, think when I composed the piece, and I tried to capture not only the rogue character and the generally bizarre, fantastic and uncanny mood of the books. The pictures accompany the song are by Ferdinand Guillaume, aka Polidor and Tontolino, a French comic, which, as you can see, has some pretty funny and magicalFilms in the early 20th Century. I felt "just right" for accompanying "The Sly Rascal."
